THE CONCRETE FOUNDATION FOR THE TOWER

Of the three FCC raids of Tampa-area stations on November 19, 1997, only the raid on the news and Christian format radio station in Lutz rated destruction of the concrete foundation for the antenna tower.

The FCC was not satisfied to stop with unbolting and removing the last tower section, thereby leaving the stubs intact to re-erect a new tower in the future. Instead, a great deal of effort was expended employing a heavy duty metal cutting saw to cut every last bit of metal off flush with the concrete base, in an effort to ruin the base, and make it impossible to erect the tower again.
